What is money for you?

Money is the consideration of the value you create.
Money is modeling the way you think about your business, work, product or service.
Money is representing the efficiency, knowledge, skills, talent, qualities, values, strengths you represent.

What is your first thought regarding the money you earn monthly?

If you are reading this post, you definitely wish to earn more than you do now or ever have. You might see a lot of ads on your social media platforms about selling high tickets, 10x-ing your business, getting high-paying clients, but there is no magic in that and no promises.

You are the core of the financial up-leveling of your business and work. It is 100% your personal work that needs to be done before you raise your prices, your fees or ask for a higher salary.

It all starts with your self-knowledge and self-esteem. I believe that the only way to truly prosper is to know who you are, why you do what you do, what the value you create and you wish to create is, what you believe in, what limits you, what moves you, and how you think about money and wealth.

You might be willing to earn more or even much more than now, but you know that it is not as easy as it sounds, and not because you have to up-lift or make a change in your business, service or work before that, but because you have to face and shift your mindset first.

I grew up in an environment where money and wealth caused hatred, conflicts, and oppositions. Money was not something to have a desire for, but a must that we are depending on. Wealth was not to be cherished, as it tore our family apart. Thanks to this background, money was considered to be an uncomfortable necessity all my life and it was a real challenge to start loving it in order to become able to earn it. I had to convert my limiting sentence “money is negative power” into the manifesto “money is the sign of the value I create”.

Money, money, money

How do you ask for a salary raise? How do you raise your fees as a free-lancer? How do you assign your payment claim as an employee? How do you form the price of your product or service as an entrepreneur? How much do you or would you pay for yourself? How much is your work, service, product, business worth? Hard questions, right?

Your clients and partners are not doing a favor to you by working with you or using your service.

Believe me, they know exactly why it is worth working with you. They usually see the values you create only you don’t. You wonder what you offer that no one else does. You wonder why your best client would pay you more for your work or service. You think that you have to be loyal to your clients and you are afraid that claiming a higher fee would be the sign of betrayal.

Wait a second.

The formula could not be simpler: you offer a high-level service and your clients honor it.

You offer the best to your clients, you give more than they expect, your motto is “clients first”, and they pay a higher price in return.

Show care and love to your top clients, serve them as powerfully as you can, and they will be loyal to your service.
Be clear and conscious about what you offer, to whom you want to offer it, and your high-paying ideal clients will find you.
Be aware of your biggest strengths and gifts, experiences, attributes and knowledge.
Know why you do what you do.
Set a clear framework and agreement based on your expectations, business and life values and make it available to your clients.
Make only smart compromises, always set your bar higher, never lower.

It sounds simple and easy but reframing a structure you were applying automatically for years takes courage, energy and time. If you want to earn more, you have to learn more about the way you work.
